Amata Transition House
The Amata Transition House in Quesnel provides short-term emergency shelter for women and their children who are experiencing violence and abuse in their home. This service is available free of charge to any woman who needs it. Access can be granted at any time, day or night, 24-hours per day, 7 days per week.
In addition to emergency shelter, the Amata Transition House also provides several other services for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse:

In addition to emergency shelter, the Amata Transition House also provides several other services for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse:
- Outreach program: This program helps women living at the Amata Transition House to access local victims and social services available to them. The Outreach program acts as an advocate on behalf of the client. Residents can get help with filling out forms and applications and have someone accompany them to appointments and meetings if desired. This service is available only to Amata Transition House Residents.
- Childcare program: This program is available only to women living at the Amata Transition House. Residents will be able to have care provided for their children during appointments or as respite.
- Children Who Witness Abuse program: This ten-week program provides support and group counselling for children who have witnessed abuse/domestic violence. Groups run twice per year. One-on-one counselling is also available in certain cases. Access for both one-on-one and group support is granted upon approval by the Program Coordinator.
- Phoenix program: This is an eight-week support and educational program for women who have experienced domestic violence/abuse. The program runs twice per year. Access is granted by the Program Coordinator. Childcare is available for women taking the program.
